Our last show in March was sold out, and last year's summer bash was also standing room only, so definitely entice people to reserve early! It helps us know the turn out for seating but more importantly the venue so they can staff appropriately!

Once you arrive through the main doors, you will see there is a room at the back to your left, with two glass doors with a sign above it called ‘The Gallery’ !

That is our green room and where you can store all your belongings and gear to ensure a clear stage space and tables for our guests!

Our Harvest Moon Session in September will be depending on weather! If its a beautful fall night we might be ok on the patio, otherwise we will be indoors!

Our Cozy Cabin Session in November will 100% be held indoors!

We don't have a dedicated photographer or videographer, however we do occationally have folks offer their time to do so. So we may photograph and film the event for promotional purposes across our social media and media outlets. If you are not ok with this, please let us know in advance. We can share anything we have with you as well.

Please bring your own instrument (with pickup), microphone, mic stand, XLR cable and patch cord (or accompanying instrument cords)

If you do not have any of these, or only some of them, please let us know in advance and we can provide some for you! We just need to know asap!

Keep in mind this is an acoustic / stripped down event! No loud amplifiers or drums—all instruments must have a direct output (no mic’d
acoustics).

We use the two speakers Broadway supplies us and we rent our board from Long & McQuade!

Each act will be guaranteed to have 2 inputs, one for vocals and one for your instrument.

With the option of adding 1 (or 2 depending on lineup) if you have accompaniment for their instrument & vocal. If you want to bring accompaniment, please let us know in advance!

Due to stage space and available sound channels, we will try and accomodate as best we can!

You are allowed one other person as accompaniment on your round. If not playing solo please confirm with us before hand.

Input wise: As the main act you have 2 inputs, and then with the option of adding 1 (or 2 depending on lineup) if you have accompaniment for their instrument & vocal.

Due to stage space and available sound channels, we will try and accomodate as best we can!

Please arrive for soundcheck and set up between 5 & 5:15ish.

This time will be for you to set situated in the green room, get primarily set up for quick changeovers, and set up your merch on the table. Also Artists in Round 1 will sound check.

We will assign which round you will be on at that point.

Show starts at 6:00pm until about 8pm (all depends on how much we talk!)

We ask that you prepare 3 ORIGINAL songs to play (either written or co-written by you).

While we love cover songs, audiences can find a cover gig any time. We want to stay true to our core values of giving artists/songwriters a platform for people to experience being in a "listening room" and hear the stories behind original music!

• 5-5:15pm: Artists arrive at venue. Gear is placed in greenroom. Artists in Round 1 do a quick sound check
• 6pm: Show starts
• 6-6:50pm: Round 1: First round of songwriters (1 host & 3 guests) perform 3 songs each in a round robin style, each taking a turn discussing the song we wrote and then signing it. Format: (A-B-C-D-A-B-C-D).
• 6:50-7:10pm: 20 min Break: Artists from round 2 line check & switch over, bathroom break, grab a drink
• 7:10-8pm: Round 2: Second round of songwriters (1 host & 3 guests) perform 3 songs each in a round robin style, each taking a turn discussing the song we wrote and then signing it. Format: (A-B-C-D-A-B-C-D).
• 8pm: End of the Night / Tear Down: Thank yous, audience can visit merch table, sign guest book, chat with performers, gear tear down, etc

While we know you might only be playing for half the show if you're in Round 1, but we would love if you stayed after your round to support your fellow songwriters, and for ease/simplicity of stage logistics!

If you have to leave after the first round, we kindly ask that you do so in the quickest way possible.

These times are all estimates as it all depends on how much we talk!

Keep in mind this is an acoustic / stripped down event!

The show is all ages, as the venue is a restaurant and allows all ages at any time, however we have verified and we are allowed to swear on stage!

Maybe not if it's every second word but if your song has it in it, or you feel super passionate in the moment of telling your story, that is totally ok!

Chairs, a sound board, and a PA system will be provided!

Please bring your own gear (instrument, microphone, cables, stand). If you don't have any of these please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements!

We will have one table reserved for Songbird Artists to sit at if needed while they aren't playing, but if you are planning on coming with friends or family, definitely reserve a table at the link and put how many seats you need reserved!

We know this might be your first time playing a songwriter round in a listening room, and it could be many people's first time in the audience as well!

Listening Room Etiquette: Songwriter rounds are an intimate, acoustic performance where multiple musicians sit together on stage, take turns playing original songs, and share the personal stories behind their lyrics. Because of this, the audience is expected to remain quiet and attentive to the artists and their stories, rather than treating the music as background noise!

• At the start of the show and each round the host always reminds the audience of this rule by saying that "We hope to create an atmosphere where you want to be continuously engaged and listen to the songs we are singing!"

This is a safe space and event where you are free to talk about your song and why you wrote it and the topics regarding it, even if they are heavy topics.

We have had songwriters tell us stories about their struggles with addition, mental health, chronic illness, domestic abuse, violence, loss, abortion, being unhoused, and more.

However please keep in mind that we are strong allies in this industry and actively support, advocate for, and stand in solidarity with a marginalized and/or underrepresented groups. We wont tolerate any songs, behaviour or speech that is extremely hateful, bigoted, demeaning, sexist, racist, homophobic and/or transphobic.

We believe in paying creatives for their artistry and supporting them in any way we can.

Our platform's focus is on indie songwriters, however we welcome folks of at any stage of their career!

We will have a small merch table where we will have our guest book, tip jar and space so you can bring CDs / stickers / business cards / a few shirts / small items if you’d like to have them for guests (you set the price and handle all exchange of goods!). We will never take a cut!

Each artist will receive an honourarium of $50. (Plus an even split of tips).

You will be paid the same evening or the next morning by e-transfer from Rox Anne. She will be sending everyone a message to get your correct email address.

For transparency, Broadway Bar & Grill gives us $250 each performance so we split it evenly among all 6 guests!

We, Sam & Rox Anne do not take a cut of that amount.

We hope we can pay our artists more in the future!

If you need to cancel for other than an emergency, please inform us at least 7 days in advance so we can find a replacement.

However, we understand emergencies and mother nature happens and will do our best to accommodate last-minute changes and rearrangements to have you on another show.

In these cases, you will not be paid your honourarium.

If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., venue closure, extreme weather), we will notify you in the quickest way possible, and at this time no payment will be issued.

The organizer and venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment.

Artists are expected to conduct themselves professionally and adhere to venue policies.
